Our Smartset technology automatically sets your clock to the correct Year, Month, Day and Time as soon as you plug it in.

Just select your time zone and the built-in computer does everything else for you immediately. If the power is interrupted for any reason, your clock will automatically reset itself once power is restored.

Daylight Savings

Congress recently passed a new Energy Bill which includes a provision to extend Daylight Saving Time.  At the beginning of 2007, Daylight Saving time will begin on the second Sunday in March and end on the first Sunday in November.  Because of this change your SmartSet® Clock or Clock Radio will need to be updated.

1. Locate your Model Number
   You can find your model number on the back or bottom of your unit.
2. Locate your Serial Number
   You can find your serial number on the back or bottom of your unit.
3. Identify Your Product Group
   Group identification begins with your serial number.

The first three to four digits of the serial number represent the year and month of manufacture. 
- If your serial number begins with 607, would indicate July 2006.
- If your serial number begins with 506 would indicate June 2005.

• Models manufactured before January 2006 belong to Group One.
  Serial numbers beginning with 506, 512, etc. will have their Time Zone adjusted.
• Models manufactured between January 2006 and July 2006 belong to Group Two.
  Serial numbers beginning with 601, 603, etc. adjusts for the Spring and Fall settings
• Models manufactured after July 2006 do not require any changes.
  Serial numbers beginning with 608, 609, etc.

Group One

Beginning in 2007 the current automatic DST default settings in this device would no longer be correct. It would then be necessary for you to manually adjust the TIME ZONE setting 4 times each year as follows:

1. On the second Sunday in March you would have to set your clock to the next lowest number time zone.
   For example: If you lived in the Eastern Time zone (Zone 2) you would then change your clock to Zone 1 to move it ahead by one hour.
2. On the first Sunday in April, your clock will automatically advance by one hour. You must then set the clock back to your correct time zone.
   For example if you lived in the Eastern Time zone you would set your clock back to Zone 2.
3. On the last Sunday in October you would again set your clock to the next lower numbered time zone.
4. On the first Sunday in November you would again set your clock back to your correct time zone.

Group Two

Adjusting the DST Start Date (Spring)

1. Press and hold the ALARM 1 button and then press the MONTH/DATE or CALENDAR button.
   After 3 seconds the “ALARM 1 display” will show the DST 'start' month, week, and date.
   The first digit will show the month ("4" = April) and the second digit will alternately show the week ("F" = First Week) and the date ("01" = April 1st).
   This indicates that Daylight Saving Time (DST) will end on the first Sunday in April as usual. When you see this display press and hold the ALARM 1 and MONTH/DATE or CALENDAR buttons.
2. Within 5 seconds, while the display is 'flashing', press the DOWN or "SET" button (depending on your specific model) three times until the "ALARM 1" display is showing "3" (March) as the month digit and the Week/Date digit is alternately flashing “F 2” (second week) and “11” (March 11th). This indicates that Daylight Saving Time will end on the second Sunday in March, which will be March 11th in 2007.

Adjusting the DST End Date (Fall)

1. Press and hold the ALARM 2 button and then press the MONTH/DATE or CALENDAR button.
   After 3 seconds the “ALARM 1 display” will show the DST 'end' month, week, and date.
   The first digit will show the month ("10" = October) and the second digit will alternately show the week ("L" = Last Week) and the date ("28" = October 28th).
   This indicates that Daylight Saving Time (DST) will end on the last Sunday in October as usual. When you see this display press and hold the ALARM 1 and MONTH/DATE or CALENDAR buttons.
2. Within 5 seconds, while the display is 'flashing', press the UP or "SET" button (depending on your specific model) and once the "ALARM 1" display is showing "11" (November) as the month digit and the Week/Date digit is alternately flashing “F” (first week) and “04” (November 4th). This indicates that Daylight Saving Time will end on the first Sunday in November, which will be November 4th in 2007.

Once you make the change for the new Daylight Saving Time (DST) schedule, your SmartSet® Clock Radio will automatically adjust for the new schedule until the end of the century (2099).
